Collagen-Stimulating Treatment for Improved Skin Quality, Firmness and Body Contour
Collagen-Stimulating Treatment for Skin Quality, Firmness and Natural-Looking Body Enhancement
Sculptra Body is an injectable collagen-stimulating treatment designed for selected areas where changes in skin quality, firmness, volume or contour have become noticeable.
Rather than creating an immediate or exaggerated transformation, Sculptra works gradually by encouraging your body’s own regenerative response. Improvements develop progressively, helping the treated area appear firmer, smoother and more refined while preserving a natural-looking result.
At Jaime Correia Aesthetics, every Sculptra Body treatment begins with a detailed consultation and clinical assessment. Your treatment is planned and performed by Jaime Correia, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber with more than 20 years of NHS clinical experience and over 15 years in facial aesthetics.
Following advanced Sculptra Body training delivered by Galderma, Jaime offers individualised treatment for appropriately selected.
What Is Sculptra Body?
Sculptra is an injectable biostimulator containing poly-L-lactic acid, commonly abbreviated to PLLA.
Unlike a traditional hyaluronic-acid filler, which principally provides volume through the injected gel itself, Sculptra encourages a gradual tissue response involving the production and remodelling of structural components such as collagen.
As this response develops, Sculptra may help improve selected concerns involving:
-
Skin quality and texture
-
Reduced firmness
-
Loss of structural support
-
Changes in volume or contour
-
Crepey-looking skin
-
The appearance of cellulite in suitable treatment areas
Sculptra does not produce its final result immediately. Its gradual action makes it particularly appropriate for patients seeking progressive, natural-looking improvement rather than an obvious overnight change.
Sculptra for the Face and Body
Sculptra has traditionally been associated with facial rejuvenation and the treatment of selected patterns of facial volume loss. Its current expanded body indication includes four specific areas:
-
Upper arms
-
Neck
-
Décolletage
-
Posterior thighs
-
Gluteal area
The treatment principles, amount of product and injection technique used on the body are different from those used on the face. Body treatment frequently requires a larger quantity of product and a carefully planned course rather than a single appointment. If your primary concern relates to facial ageing or facial volume loss, please visit our dedicated Sculptra Facial Treatment page.
Areas That Can Be Treated With Sculptra Body
Sculptra for the Upper Arms
The skin of the upper arms can gradually become thinner, looser or more crepey as collagen levels, weight and skin elasticity change.
Sculptra may be considered for selected patients who want to improve the appearance of skin quality and firmness in this area. Treatment is intended to create progressive refinement rather than the dramatic tightening associated with surgery.
It cannot remove substantial loose skin or replace an arm-lift procedure. Suitability depends on the amount of laxity, skin thickness, underlying tissue and the result you are hoping to achieve.
Sculptra for the Décolletage
The décolletage can show visible signs of ageing because of sun exposure, movement, sleeping position and gradual changes in collagen and elasticity.
Sculptra may help improve selected concerns involving:
-
Crepey-looking skin
-
Reduced firmness
-
Fine lines and wrinkling
-
Deterioration in overall skin quality
Treatment is planned conservatively because the skin in this area differs from facial and other body tissue. Sculptra will not remove pigmentation, thread veins or significant sun damage. Chemical peels, skin boosters or advanced skin treatments may be more appropriate for some concerns.
Sculptra for the Posterior Thighs
Sculptra may be used on the backs of the thighs to improve skin quality, firmness and the appearance of selected cellulite-related contour irregularities.
Cellulite is influenced by several factors, including skin structure, connective tissue, fat distribution, hormones and genetics. Sculptra does not remove fat or cure cellulite. However, improving the quality and structural support of the overlying skin may soften its appearance in appropriately selected patients.
The outcome depends on the type and severity of cellulite, tissue quality and whether other factors are contributing to the irregularity.
Sculptra for the Neck
The neck is one of the first places to show signs of ageing. As collagen declines, the neck can become loose, thin, crepey and lined — often much faster than the face. While many people invest in facial rejuvenation, the neck is frequently overlooked, leading to visible contrast between the two areas.
Sculptra for the Gluteal Area
Sculptra may be considered for selected aesthetic concerns involving skin quality, firmness, projection and contour in the gluteal area.
The objective is a gradual, proportionate enhancement based on your existing anatomy. It is not intended to create the immediate or substantial enlargement associated with surgical fat transfer or gluteal implants.
Jaime will assess your proportions, tissue distribution, skin quality and goals before determining whether Sculptra is appropriate. Some patients may benefit from skin-quality improvement, while others may be seeking subtle contour or projection enhancement.
JCA does not promote this treatment as a “liquid BBL” or promise a dramatic change in body shape.
What Can Sculptra Body Achieve?
Depending on the treatment area and your individual anatomy, Sculptra Body may help produce gradual improvements in:
-
Skin firmness
-
Skin texture and quality
-
Crepey-looking skin
-
Selected areas of volume loss
-
Subtle body contour
-
Gluteal projection in appropriately selected patients
-
The appearance of cellulite on the posterior thighs or gluteal area
Results vary, and no particular degree of improvement can be guaranteed.

What Sculptra Body Cannot Do
Sculptra Body is not a weight-loss treatment and does not remove fat.
It cannot:
-
Produce weight loss
-
Replace diet or exercise
-
remove large fat deposits
-
Treat obesity
-
Remove significant quantities of loose skin
-
Reproduce the result of surgical lifting or body contouring
-
Guarantee the removal of cellulite
-
Correct every type of contour irregularity
-
Create an immediate final result
Being clear about these limitations is essential. If your desired outcome cannot realistically be achieved with Sculptra, Jaime will explain this during your consultation.
Why Choose Jaime Correia for Sculptra Body?

Every treatment includes:
-
A detailed medical consultation
-
Assessment of anatomy, skin and tissue quality
-
Honest discussion of suitability and limitations
-
An individualised treatment plan
-
Genuine Sculptra sourced through approved channels
-
Careful clinical documentation and product traceability
-

-
Access to clinical support should you have concerns
Training does not remove the risks associated with treatment, but appropriate clinical knowledge, product selection and complication-management protocols are essential to delivering responsible care.
Your Sculptra Body Consultation
Your consultation is an important clinical assessment rather than simply an appointment to select the number of vials.
Jaime will consider:
-
Your medical history
-
Allergies and previous reactions
-
Current medication and supplements
-
Previous injectable or surgical treatments
-
Pregnancy or breastfeeding status
-
Your skin thickness and elasticity
-
The amount and distribution of underlying tissue
-
Existing scars or previous surgery
-
The nature and severity of your concern
-
Your desired outcome
-
Whether Sculptra is likely to offer worthwhile improvement
-
Whether another treatment or surgical opinion would be more appropriate
The proposed treatment area will be examined, and clinical photographs may be taken with your consent as part of your confidential medical record.
You will receive information about the expected benefits, limitations, likely number of sessions, total anticipated cost, recovery and possible complications before deciding whether to proceed.
Who May Be Suitable for Sculptra Body?
Sculptra Body may be appropriate for an adult who:
-
Has concerns about reduced skin quality or firmness
-
Has mild or moderate crepey-looking skin
-
Wants gradual rather than immediate improvement
-
Is interested in subtle contour enhancement
-
Has realistic expectations
-
Understands that a treatment course may be required
-
Is willing to wait for the regenerative response to develop
-
Is medically suitable for an injectable procedure
The treatment is not determined by age alone. Anatomy, skin quality, medical history and expectations are more important than choosing treatment because it is currently popular.
Who May Not Be Suitable?
Sculptra must not be used in someone with known hypersensitivity to its ingredients or certain severe allergy histories. Treatment should also be postponed when there is active inflammation, infection, a tumour or another active condition in or close to the proposed treatment area.
Sculptra may be unsuitable or require additional consideration if you:
-
Are under 18
-
Are pregnant or breastfeeding, as safety has not been established
-
Have an active skin infection or inflammatory condition
-
Have an active systemic illness
-
Have a history of severe or multiple allergies
-
Have a known allergy to an ingredient in the product
-
Have a known allergy to lidocaine or amide-type local anaesthetics if lidocaine will be used
-
Have a history of problematic scarring
-
Have a bleeding disorder or take medication affecting bleeding
-
Have an autoimmune or immune-related condition
-
Are taking immunosuppressive medication
-
Have had previous procedures, implants or injections in the proposed area
-
Have expectations that cannot realistically be achieved
Do not discontinue prescribed medication before treatment unless instructed by the clinician responsible for prescribing it.
What Happens During Sculptra Body Treatment?
Before treatment, the area is assessed and carefully marked. The skin is cleansed, and the prepared Sculptra suspension is placed through a series of planned injection points using a needle or cannula, depending on the treatment area and clinical technique.
Lidocaine may be incorporated into the prepared product where clinically appropriate to improve comfort.
The treatment may involve multiple injections distributed across a relatively large area. You may feel pressure, stinging, tenderness or a sensation of the cannula moving beneath the skin.
Appointment length varies according to the area being treated and the amount of product required.
After treatment, the area may be massaged to distribute the product appropriately. You will be given personalised instructions explaining whether and how you should massage the area at home.
Sculptra Body Sessions Will I Need?
Sculptra Body is generally planned as a treatment course rather than a single-session procedure.
The number of sessions and vials required depends on:
-
The treatment area
-
Your body size and anatomy
-
Skin and tissue quality
-
The degree of correction required
-
Whether the objective is skin quality, firmness, contour or projection
-
Your response to previous treatment
-
Your treatment budget
Some patients may require several sessions, spaced according to the recommended clinical protocol. A responsible plan should not attempt to achieve the entire correction through excessive product placement at one appointment.
Your provisional course and total estimated cost will be explained following assessment. Further treatment should be based on your response rather than automatically repeating injections.

Frequently Asked Questions About Sculptra Body
Is Sculptra Body a dermal filler?
Sculptra is an injectable poly-L-lactic acid biostimulator. Although it can contribute to gradual volume and contour improvement, it works differently from a traditional hyaluronic-acid filler.
Which body areas can be treated?
The current expanded indication includes the upper arms, décolletage, posterior thighs and gluteal area. Treatment will only be offered where it is appropriate for your concern and consistent with the instructions for the product being used.
Does Sculptra Body tighten loose skin?
Sculptra may improve the appearance of firmness and skin quality, but “tightening” should not be interpreted as surgical skin removal. It cannot adequately correct substantial loose or overhanging skin.
Can Sculptra remove cellulite?
No. Sculptra does not cure or completely remove cellulite. It may improve its appearance in selected areas by improving skin quality and structural support.
Is Sculptra Body a weight-loss treatment?
No. Sculptra does not cause weight loss and is not a substitute for nutrition, exercise or medical weight-management care.
Is gluteal Sculptra the same as a Brazilian butt lift?
No. A surgical Brazilian butt lift transfers fat, while Sculptra is an injectable collagen-stimulating product. The techniques, risks and potential degree of enlargement are different.
JCA does not describe Sculptra as a “liquid BBL”.
Can Sculptra create a larger bottom?
Sculptra may provide gradual enhancement of selected contour and projection concerns, but the degree of change is limited by anatomy, treatment quantity and safe clinical practice. It should not be expected to reproduce substantial surgical augmentation.
Is the treatment suitable for men?
Yes. Suitability is based on anatomy, tissue quality, medical history and treatment goals rather than gender.
