Bespoke lip enhancement, definition and corrective assessment—planned around your natural anatomy

Lip enhancement is one of my favourite treatments because achieving a beautiful result requires more than simply adding volume. It takes detailed anatomical knowledge, precise technique, an experienced eye and a genuine sense of artistry.

Every pair of lips is different. I consider your natural lip shape, facial proportions, profile, movement and treatment history before creating a personalised plan. My aim is to enhance what is already there—not impose the same lip shape on every patient.

Whether you are considering your first treatment, want a subtle refresh or are concerned about the result of previous lip filler, your treatment will begin with an honest clinical assessment.

Treatments are performed by Jaime Correia, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber with more than 20 years of NHS clinical experience and over 15 years in facial aesthetics.

What Can Lip Fillers Help Improve?

  • Subtle enhancement of natural lip volume

  • Greater definition of the lip border

  • Refinement of the Cupid’s bow

  • Improved balance between the upper and lower lip

  • Support for age-related loss of lip volume

  • Correction of selected asymmetries

  • Improved harmony between the lips and surrounding features

  • A hydrated, naturally refreshed appearance

The appropriate result depends on your starting anatomy. Lip filler cannot create every requested shape safely, and Jaime may recommend a more conservative plan—or advise against treatment—where this is in your best interests.

Precision, Proportion and Artistry

A technically successful lip treatment should work in harmony with the whole face. Before recommending treatment, I assess the lips both at rest and in movement, considering their shape, projection, symmetry and relationship with the chin, nose and lower face.

I do not follow a fixed template or chase trends. Product selection, placement and quantity are tailored to your anatomy and desired outcome, with particular care taken to preserve softness, movement and natural proportion.

For me, lip enhancement is where clinical precision meets artistry. The smallest details can make a meaningful difference—and restraint is often as important as the injection itself.

Assessment and Correction of Previous Lip Filler

I also welcome patients who are unhappy or concerned about previous lip filler. Common concerns may include excessive volume, migration, asymmetry, uneven texture, palpable lumps or a result that no longer feels proportionate to the face.

Correction begins with a detailed assessment rather than automatically adding more filler. Depending on your examination and treatment history, the most appropriate plan may involve:

  • Allowing recent treatment additional time to settle

  • Correcting a selected area conservatively

  • Reducing or dissolving appropriate hyaluronic-acid filler

  • Allowing the lips to recover before considering retreatment

  • Referring for further medical assessment where necessary

  • Recommending no additional treatment

Correction is not always possible in one appointment, and dissolving does not automatically guarantee a particular result. Jaime will explain the available options, limitations, costs and risks before you decide whether to proceed.

Sudden severe pain, blanching, unusual skin discolouration or visual disturbance following recent filler treatment requires urgent medical assessment and should not wait for a routine correction appointment.

Your Lip Filler Treatment Journey

  1. Medical-history and previous-treatment review

  2. Assessment at rest and during movement

  3. Discussion of your desired outcome

  4. Examination of existing filler, where relevant

  5. Product and quantity recommendation

  6. Explanation of benefits, limitations and risks

  7. Consent and treatment

  8. Written aftercare and access to clinical support

Treatment will only proceed when Jaime considers it clinically appropriate. You will never be pressured to have more product than your anatomy requires.

What Should I Expect After Lip Filler?

An initial change is usually visible immediately, but swelling can temporarily exaggerate the size or unevenness of the lips. The final result should not be assessed until the swelling has settled.

Temporary swelling, tenderness, redness, bruising and firmness are common. Small differences between the two sides may also be more noticeable during the early healing period.

Less common but potentially serious complications include infection, persistent lumps, inflammatory reactions and vascular occlusion. These risks, warning signs and the clinic’s emergency contact arrangements will be explained before treatment.

Lip fillers versus a lip flip

Because a lip flip normally involves a prescription-only medicine, do not promote it as a product or casually bundle it with filler.

Lip filler and treatments that alter muscle movement are different procedures. If you are unsure which approach may be suitable, Jaime can assess your anatomy and discuss appropriate options during consultation. Prescription treatment is only considered following a face-to-face clinical assessment.

Lip-filler pricing depends on the product selected, quantity required, treatment complexity and whether previous filler needs to be assessed.

More product does not automatically produce a better result. Jaime will recommend only the quantity considered appropriate for your anatomy and desired outcome.

Correction and dissolving costs vary because some patients require a staged plan. Your complete treatment plan and price will be explained before you decide whether to proceed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much lip filler might I need?

Between 0.5 ml and 1.0 ml of lip filler per session, with 1.0 ml being the standard starting amount for a noticeable yet balanced enhancement.

Will my lips look natural?

Achieving natural-looking lips with filler depends on using conservative amounts, precise placement, and soft, flexible hyaluronic acid products

Can lip filler improve asymmetry?

A skilled injector places unequal, precise amounts of filler where volume or structural support is missing rather than treating both sides the same way.

How long might lip filler last?

Lip fillers typically last between 6 and 12 months, though some advanced formulations can last up to 18 months.

First-time treatments: Often last 4 to 6 months because the body may absorb the initial product faster.

How much swelling should I expect?

  • Day 1–2 (Peak Swelling): Your lips will look largest and may feel firm, tight, uneven, or tender. This happens because the needle causes minor trauma and the Hyaluronic Acid filler attracts moisture.

  • Days 3–4 (Improvement): Swelling starts to go down noticeably, and your lips will begin to feel softer and look more even.

  • Days 5–7 (Settling): Most puffiness disappears, though minor residual firmness or tiny lumps can linger.

Are lip fillers suitable for everyone?

  • Under 18s: Under the Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021, it is illegal in England to give cosmetic fillers to anyone under 18.

  • Pregnant or breastfeeding women: Clinics generally refuse treatment because safety has not been tested for these groups.

  • People with active infections: Anyone with cold sores, acne, or inflammation around the mouth must wait until the area heals.

  • People with certain medical conditions: Those with severe allergies, autoimmune diseases, or bleeding disorders face higher risks of complications.

  • Unrealistic expectations: People looking to copy extreme social media trends (like "Russian lips") that may not fit their natural facial structure or skin elasticity

Can previous lip filler be corrected?

  • Enzyme Treatment: Hyaluronidase is injected into the lips. It breaks down hyaluronic acid filler so your body can absorb it.

  • Speed: The enzyme starts working right away. You can see a big change in 24 to 48 hours, with full results in 1 to 2 weeks.

  • Targeted Fixes: A practitioner can do a partial dissolve to fix small lumps or uneven shape, or a full dissolve for a complete reset.
