Personalised facial contouring and volume restoration with natural-looking results
Dermal fillers can be used to restore areas of facial volume loss, soften selected folds and create greater balance between facial features. The aim is not to change your identity, but to enhance proportion and help you look naturally refreshed.
At Jaime Correia Aesthetics, every dermal-filler treatment begins with a detailed facial assessment. Jaime will consider your anatomy, facial movement, skin quality and treatment goals before creating a personalised plan.
Treatments are performed by Jaime Correia, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber with more than 20 years of NHS clinical experience and over 15 years in facial aesthetics.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable gels used to restore volume, support facial structure or enhance selected contours. Many commonly used fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally present within the skin.
Different fillers have different properties and are selected according to the treatment area, tissue depth and intended outcome. Product selection, quantity and placement will be determined following your consultation.

What Can Dermal Fillers Help Improve?
Age-related facial volume loss
Flattening or loss of cheek support
Chin proportion and profile balance
Jawline definition
Temple hollowing
Nasolabial folds
Marionette lines
Facial asymmetry
Full-face balancing
Dermal fillers cannot correct every line, fold or form of skin laxity. Depending on the cause of your concern, Jaime may recommend Sculptra®, polynucleotides, skin boosters, microneedling or no treatment.
Dermal Filler Treatment Areas

Cheek Enhancement
Carefully placed filler may help restore mid-face support, improve cheek contour and create a naturally refreshed appearance. Treatment is planned in relation to the whole face rather than treating the cheeks in isolation.

Chin Enhancement
Chin filler may be considered to improve projection, proportion or balance between the chin and other facial features. Treatment plans are tailored to your profile and lower-face anatomy.

Jawline Contouring
Dermal filler may help improve jawline definition or create greater balance through the lower face. Suitability depends on your underlying anatomy, skin laxity and treatment goals.

Temple Rejuvenation
Age-related volume changes can make the temples appear hollow. Temple treatment requires advanced anatomical knowledge and will only be offered when considered clinically appropriate.

Nasolabial Folds
These folds extend from the sides of the nose towards the mouth. Treatment may involve restoring support elsewhere in the face rather than injecting directly into the fold.

Marionette Lines
Lines extending downwards from the corners of the mouth may be influenced by volume loss, facial structure and skin laxity. A full lower-face assessment helps determine the most appropriate approach.

Full-Face Balancing
A personalised combination of treatment areas may be considered to improve facial proportion and restore support. The objective is a cohesive result rather than treating individual features without regard to the face as a whole.
Dermal Fillers or Sculptra®?

Dermal Fillers
Provide more immediate structural support or contour
Used for selected areas and facial features
Often hyaluronic-acid based
Results are visible soon after swelling settles

Produces gradual changes
Supports progressive collagen stimulation
Contains poly-L-lactic acid
Results develop over weeks and months
One treatment is not inherently better than the other. The appropriate option depends on your anatomy, degree of volume loss and desired outcome. In some treatment plans, different approaches may complement one another.
Results and recovery
Changes are usually visible immediately, although swelling can temporarily affect the appearance of the treated area. The result is assessed after the tissues have settled.
Temporary swelling, redness, tenderness, bruising or asymmetry can occur. Less common but potentially serious complications will be discussed during consent, including infection, nodules and vascular occlusion.
You will receive clear aftercare instructions and guidance explaining when and how to contact the clinic if you have concerns.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long do dermal fillers last?
Dermal fillers generally last between 6 and 18 months, though some can last up to 2 years, depending on the product type, injection area, and individual metabolism. Highly mobile areas like lips typically require touch-ups every 6-9 months, while structural areas like cheeks or temples last 12-24 months.
Side effects of dermal fillers !
Dermal filler side effects range from common, mild issues like swelling, bruising, redness, pain, and itching (usually temporary) to rare but serious complications like infections, allergic reactions, nodules, and vascular occlusion (blood vessel blockage) causing tissue death or blindness, requiring immediate medical attention. Choosing a qualified practitioner and following aftercare are crucial for safety, with most minor side effects resolving in days to weeks, while severe issues need urgent professional treatment.
Can dermal fillers be dissolved?
Yes, most dermal fillers, specifically hyaluronic acid (HA)-based ones (like Juvéderm or Restylane), can be dissolved using an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which breaks down the filler material, allowing the body to reabsorb it, offering a way to correct lumps, migration, or dissatisfaction with results quickly. Non-HA fillers, such as Sculptra or Radiesse, generally cannot be dissolved with hyaluronidase.
What is the difference between filler and Sculptra?
Dermal fillers are injectable treatments designed to restore volume instantly. Most fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a substance your body naturally produces to keep skin hydrated and plump.
Sculptra is a collagen-stimulating injectable that works gradually over time. Instead of filling wrinkles instantly, Sculptra encourages your body to produce its own collagen, improving skin structure from within.
How much filler might I need?
The amount of dermal filler you need depends on the specific treatment area and your natural volume loss, with standard syringes containing 1 ml of product.
Are dermal fillers suitable for everyone?
Dermal fillers are not suitable for everyone, as certain medical conditions, medications, and life stages make the treatment unsafe or ineffective.
When will I see the result?
immediate volume, but they take 2 to 4 weeks to fully settle and show their final, natural results.
