Hair Loss and Scalp Rejuvenation Treatments Manchester & Liverpool

Personalised Peptide, Polynucleotide and Microneedling Treatments for Thinning Hair and Scalp Health

Hair Loss and Scalp Rejuvenation Treatments in Manchester & Liverpool

Personalised Peptide, Polynucleotide and Microneedling Treatments for Thinning Hair and Scalp Health

Hair thinning and excessive shedding can affect confidence at any age. However, hair loss has many possible causes, which means the same treatment will not be appropriate for every patient.

At Jaime Correia Aesthetics, hair rejuvenation begins with a detailed consultation and scalp assessment. Jaime will consider your pattern of hair loss, scalp condition, medical history, medication, lifestyle and previous treatments before recommending an appropriate plan.

Three principal treatment options are available:

  • DR.CYJ Hair Filler

  • Plinest® Hair polynucleotides

  • NEWDERM™ Hair microneedling with supporting homecare serum

Treatments are performed by Jaime Correia, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Independent Prescriber with more than 20 years of NHS clinical experience and over 15 years in aesthetics.

Before & After Hair Treatments

Understanding Hair Loss and Thinning

Hair naturally moves through a cycle of growth, transition, rest and shedding. Changes to this cycle can result in increased shedding, reduced density or progressively finer hair.

Possible contributing factors include:

  • Genetic pattern hair loss

  • Hormonal changes

  • Menopause

  • Pregnancy or the post-pregnancy period

  • Nutritional deficiencies

  • Thyroid or other medical conditions

  • Significant illness

  • Physical or emotional stress

  • Rapid weight loss

  • Certain medication

  • Scalp inflammation

  • Hair styling and traction

  • Age-related follicle changes

A cosmetic scalp treatment should not be used as a substitute for diagnosing an underlying medical condition.

Sudden hair loss, clearly defined bald patches, scalp pain, inflammation, scarring or rapid unexplained shedding may require assessment by your GP, dermatologist or an appropriately qualified hair-loss specialist before treatment at JCA.

Hair Rejuvenation Treatments Available at JCA

DR.CYJ Hair Filler

Jaime’s Preferred Injectable Treatment for Suitable Hair-Thinning Concerns

DR.CYJ Hair Filler is Jaime’s personal favourite among the hair-rejuvenation treatments available at JCA. In her clinical experience, appropriately selected patients have produced particularly encouraging results with this treatment.

This reflects Jaime’s professional experience and observations; it does not mean DR.CYJ will be the best option for every patient or guarantee that one treatment will outperform another for you.

DR.CYJ Hair Filler is a sterile injectable scalp treatment manufactured by Caregen in South Korea. Its formulation contains non-animal hyaluronic acid and a complex of seven biomimetic peptides.

It is placed at a series of carefully planned points across the treatment area rather than being used to add conventional filler-like volume.

DR.CYJ may be considered where the aim is to support:

  • Thinning hair

  • Reduced-looking hair density

  • Weak or progressively finer hair

  • Selected non-scarring patterns of hair loss

  • Scalp and follicular support

  • An overall hair-rejuvenation programme

Results vary considerably. The treatment cannot create new follicles where follicles are no longer viable, and it should not be promoted as permanently reversing baldness.

How Does DR.CYJ Hair Filler Work?

DR.CYJ combines 0.7% non-animal hyaluronic acid with seven biomimetic peptides.

The hyaluronic-acid gel acts as a delivery matrix, while the peptide complex has been developed to support signalling associated with the hair and scalp environment.

The manufacturer describes the product as having a sustained-release action. However, the response depends on several factors, including the cause and duration of hair loss, follicle viability, age, hormonal influences and adherence to the recommended treatment plan.

DR.CYJ Hair Filler is not the same as an ordinary facial dermal filler, and it is not injected to create scalp volume.

What Happens During DR.CYJ Treatment?

The scalp is examined, cleansed and marked before treatment. DR.CYJ Hair Filler is then administered through multiple small injections across the selected treatment area.

You may experience:

  • Stinging during injection

  • Tenderness

  • Temporary pressure

  • Pinpoint bleeding

  • Mild swelling

  • Small temporary bumps at injection points

A topical anaesthetic or another comfort measure may be considered where appropriate.

The number and spacing of appointments will be discussed following assessment. A course is normally required rather than a single treatment.

Plinest® Hair Polynucleotide Treatment

Injectable Polynucleotides for Scalp and Hair Rejuvenation

Plinest Hair is a professional injectable product developed by Mastelli, an Italian pharmaceutical company with extensive experience in polynucleotide technology.

The product contains highly purified polynucleotides HPT® and is supplied in a pre-filled syringe for intradermal treatment.

Polynucleotides are purified DNA fragments used to support the local tissue environment. When used in the scalp, the treatment is intended to support scalp quality and the conditions surrounding existing follicles.

Plinest Hair may be considered where the treatment objective includes:

  • Supporting scalp quality

  • Improving the environment surrounding existing follicles

  • Addressing reduced-looking hair density

  • Supporting weak or thinning hair

  • Providing a polynucleotide-based alternative to peptide treatment

Plinest Hair does not replace prescription medication where this is clinically indicated and cannot be guaranteed to stop or reverse hair loss.

How Is Plinest Hair Different From DR.CYJ?

Although both treatments are administered through scalp injections, they use different technologies.

DR.CYJ Hair Filler combines non-animal hyaluronic acid with a complex of seven biomimetic peptides.

Plinest Hair uses Mastelli’s purified polynucleotide HPT technology.

The choice is not based simply on which treatment is more expensive or popular. Jaime will consider your scalp, pattern of thinning, medical history, previous response to treatment and individual preferences.

Plinest polynucleotides are derived from fish sources. Patients with fish allergies or ethical concerns about animal-derived ingredients must discuss this before treatment.

What Happens During Plinest Hair Treatment?

Following cleansing and preparation, small quantities of Plinest Hair are administered at planned points across the selected area of the scalp.

Temporary small bumps may be visible immediately after treatment. These generally settle as the product disperses.

A planned course is usually recommended. The number and timing of sessions depend on your scalp, concern and response rather than a universal protocol for every patient.

NEWDERM™ Hair Microneedling

A Needle-Based Scalp Protocol With Supporting Homecare

NEWDERM Hair is a topical professional scalp formulation from the Nouveau Visage range. It can be used alongside scalp microneedling as part of a structured clinic and homecare programme.

Unlike DR.CYJ and Plinest Hair, NEWDERM Hair is not injected into the scalp.

A professional microneedling device creates controlled microchannels in selected areas of the scalp. The NEWDERM Hair formulation is then used topically according to the manufacturer’s professional protocol.

The formulation includes ingredients such as:

  • PDRN

  • Biomimetic peptides

  • Ginseng-root extract

  • Niacinamide

  • Panthenol

  • Biotin

  • Zinc PCA

  • Amino-acid and conditioning ingredients

The protocol also includes a take-home serum so that patients can continue the recommended scalp-care programme between clinic appointments.

Who Might Prefer NEWDERM Hair Microneedling?

NEWDERM Hair may be considered for patients who:

  • Prefer a microneedling-based treatment

  • Do not want an injectable scalp product

  • Have general concerns about scalp quality

  • Have weak or thinning-looking hair

  • Want a combined clinic and homecare programme

  • Are medically suitable for scalp microneedling

It is not automatically a milder or risk-free option. Microneedling temporarily disrupts the skin barrier and must be performed using an appropriate device, sterile single-use cartridge and products intended for that protocol.

The take-home serum should be used only as directed. More frequent use does not necessarily produce a better result.

A non-injectable clinic and homecare programme

No treatment is universally superior. The most appropriate choice depends on the cause of your hair concern, follicle viability, scalp condition, medical history and expectations.

What May Hair Rejuvenation Treatment Help With?

Depending on the treatment selected and the underlying cause, a hair-rejuvenation programme may help support:

  • The appearance of hair density

  • Existing hair that has become finer or weaker

  • Scalp quality and hydration

  • The environment surrounding functioning follicles

  • Hair strength and overall quality

  • A structured maintenance programme

  • Recovery support following selected hair procedures, where clinically appropriate

Objective claims about reducing hair loss or stimulating growth require appropriate evidence. No treatment should be expected to work equally for every type of hair loss.

What These Treatments Cannot Do

JCA’s hair-rejuvenation treatments cannot:

  • Guarantee new hair growth

  • Permanently cure baldness

  • Create new follicles where follicles are no longer viable

  • Treat every form of alopecia

  • Replace investigation of an underlying medical condition

  • Correct significant scarring alopecia

  • Guarantee the same response in every patient

  • Replace a hair transplant where surgery is the appropriate option

  • Prevent all future age-related or genetic hair changes

Some patients may be unsuitable for treatment or may be advised to obtain a medical diagnosis before proceeding.

Hair Loss Following Weight Reduction

Hair shedding can sometimes occur following rapid or substantial weight loss, including weight loss associated with illness, major dietary change or prescribed weight-management medication.

This may reflect disruption of the normal hair cycle or underlying nutritional, hormonal or medical factors.

Scalp treatment should not begin without considering the reason for the shedding. In some cases, medical assessment or blood testing may be more appropriate than immediately undertaking an aesthetic treatment.

Treatment cannot compensate for an unresolved nutritional deficiency or other underlying cause.

Your Hair and Scalp Consultation

Your consultation is an essential part of the treatment process.

Jaime will consider:

  • When the shedding or thinning began

  • Whether the change was gradual or sudden

  • The pattern and location of hair loss

  • Family history

  • Recent illness, surgery or emotional stress

  • Pregnancy, childbirth or menopause

  • Weight loss or dietary changes

  • Current medication and supplements

  • Known medical conditions

  • Previous hair-loss treatments

  • Scalp sensitivity, itching, pain or scaling

  • Hair-styling and traction practices

  • Allergies

  • Your expectations and treatment preferences

The scalp will be examined, and clinical photographs may be taken with your consent to support future comparison.

If the pattern suggests an undiagnosed medical condition, Jaime may recommend assessment by your GP, dermatologist or another appropriate specialist before cosmetic treatment.

Who May Be Suitable?

A scalp-rejuvenation treatment may be considered for an adult who:

  • Has gradual hair thinning

  • Has reduced-looking hair density

  • Still has functioning follicles in the treatment area

  • Wants to support existing hair and scalp quality

  • Understands that a course may be required

  • Has realistic expectations

  • Is medically suitable for injections or microneedling

  • Is prepared to follow the recommended treatment and homecare plan

Suitability is determined by assessment rather than age or gender alone

Who May Not Be Suitable?

Treatment may need to be postponed or avoided if you have:

  • Sudden or unexplained hair loss

  • Active scalp infection

  • Inflamed, painful or broken skin

  • Active psoriasis, eczema or dermatitis in the area

  • Scarring alopecia

  • A suspicious or undiagnosed scalp lesion

  • A bleeding disorder

  • Medication that significantly affects bleeding or healing

  • Poorly controlled diabetes

  • Significant immune suppression

  • A history of problematic wound healing

  • A relevant product allergy

  • An allergy or sensitivity to fish-derived products when considering Plinest Hair

  • A known sensitivity to any component of the selected treatment

  • Recently undergone an incompatible scalp procedure

  • Unrealistic expectations

Elective injectable and microneedling treatments are generally postponed during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Do not stop prescribed medication or supplements before treatment unless advised by the clinician responsible for prescribing them.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?

Hair rejuvenation is normally planned as a course because hair biology changes gradually.

The number and timing of sessions depend on:

  • The product selected

  • The pattern and duration of thinning

  • The size of the treatment area

  • Your scalp condition

  • Follicle viability

  • Your response to treatment

  • The manufacturer’s recommended protocol

  • Whether maintenance is appropriate

DR.CYJ is commonly planned as an initial course with  3 treatments relatively close treatment intervals, followed by reassessment. Plinest Hair and NEWDERM Hair have their own product-specific protocols.

Your individual schedule will be confirmed after consultation. Treatments should not be repeated indefinitely without reviewing whether a worthwhile response is being achieved.

When Might I See a Change?

Hair growth is slow, and results should not be judged immediately after treatment.

Where a patient responds, early changes may involve:

  • Reduced perception of excessive shedding

  • Improved scalp quality

  • Existing hair feeling stronger

  • Fine new growth becoming noticeable

  • Gradual improvement in the appearance of density

Meaningful assessment usually requires consistent photographs over several months. Lighting, styling, wet or dry hair and camera position can otherwise create a misleading impression.

Results vary substantially, and some patients may experience limited or no visible improvement.

How Long Do Results Last?

Hair rejuvenation does not permanently alter genetics, hormones or the natural ageing process.

The duration of any improvement depends on:

  • The underlying cause

  • Whether hair loss remains active

  • Age and genetic factors

  • Hormonal influences

  • General health and nutrition

  • Medication

  • Completion of the treatment course

  • Response to treatment

  • Ongoing maintenance

Maintenance may be discussed after reviewing your response. It should not be presented as compulsory or guaranteed to preserve results.

Frequently Asked Questions About Hair Rejuvenation

Which hair treatment does Jaime prefer?

DR.CYJ Hair Filler is Jaime’s preferred injectable hair treatment based on her experience and the results she has observed in appropriately selected patients.

This does not guarantee that DR.CYJ will be the most appropriate or successful option for everyone.

What is DR.CYJ Hair Filler?

DR.CYJ is a sterile injectable scalp product containing 0.7% non-animal hyaluronic acid and a complex of seven biomimetic peptides.

Is DR.CYJ the same as dermal filler?

No. Although it contains hyaluronic acid and uses the term “Hair Filler”, it is not used to add conventional facial-filler-style volume. It is administered across selected scalp areas according to its professional protocol.

What is Plinest Hair?

Plinest Hair is an injectable scalp product manufactured by Mastelli. It contains purified polynucleotides HPT and is designed for professional intradermal use.

Is Plinest Hair suitable for vegans?

No. Mastelli’s polynucleotides are obtained from fish sources, so Plinest Hair is not vegan.

What is NEWDERM Hair?

NEWDERM Hair is a professional topical scalp formulation used with an appropriate microneedling protocol. It is accompanied by homecare to support the scalp programme between appointments.

Is NEWDERM Hair injected?

No. At JCA, NEWDERM Hair is used topically as part of the manufacturer-supported microneedling protocol.

Which treatment is best for hair loss?

There is no single best treatment for every patient. The appropriate option depends on the cause and pattern of hair loss, scalp health, medical history, follicle viability and personal preference.

Can these treatments cure baldness?

No. They cannot permanently cure baldness or recreate follicles that are no longer viable.

Can treatment create completely new follicles?

No responsible guarantee can be made that these treatments will create new follicles. The realistic objective is to support the scalp environment and existing viable follicles in appropriately selected patients.

Can women receive hair-rejuvenation treatment?

Yes. Women and men can be assessed, but the possible causes and patterns of hair loss may differ. Some patients will require medical investigation before aesthetic treatment.

Can you treat alopecia areata?

Patchy alopecia areata is a medical condition requiring an appropriate diagnosis. Patients with suspected alopecia areata should be assessed by their GP or dermatologist rather than beginning a cosmetic treatment without diagnosis.

Can treatment help after menopause?

It may be considered for suitable patients experiencing gradual thinning, but hormonal and medical factors should be considered. Treatment cannot correct an unresolved underlying condition.

Can treatment help after weight loss?

Potentially, but sudden shedding following weight loss may require medical or nutritional assessment. Cosmetic treatment should not replace investigation of the underlying cause.

Can I combine these treatments?

A combined or staged plan may sometimes be considered, but using more products does not automatically produce a better outcome. Timing and suitability must be clinically assessed.

How many sessions will I need?

Most patients require a course. The number and spacing depend on the product, treatment area and individual response.

When will I see results?

Hair changes occur slowly. Where treatment is successful, improvement is generally assessed over several months rather than days or weeks.

Will the injections hurt?

Scalp injections can sting and the scalp may feel tender afterwards. Comfort measures may be used where appropriate, but the treatment cannot be guaranteed to be pain-free.

Will I lose more hair initially?

Temporary fluctuations in shedding can occur for many reasons. Contact the clinic if you notice a marked or concerning increase following treatment.

Can I wash my hair afterwards?

You will be given specific instructions about when to wash your hair and resume normal scalp products. Follow these instructions rather than general advice found online.

Can I colour my hair after treatment?

Hair colouring and strong chemical products may need to be avoided around the treatment period. Jaime will advise you when they can be resumed.

Are results guaranteed?

No. Response varies according to the cause and duration of hair loss, follicle viability, age, health and other biological factors.
